Discover Phong Nha Cave & DMZ 4 Days ( by train from Ha Noi)

Vietnam's narrow waist is bulging with things to do. This journey takes in some of the region's star attractions such as the heritage site of Dong Hoi and the Lesser-known highlights, meanwhile, include the Vietcong tunnels at Vinh Moc and De militaried Zone of Ben Hai river.

Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi - Night train to Dong Hoi

19.00pm: Pick-up at your hotel in Hanoi and transfer to Hanoi Railway Station. Board the night train to Dong Hoi (local train, sharing 4-berth air-conditioned compartment).

• Train journeys are part of a great local experience. Cabins are shared with other local passengers (unless private cabin is requested and all berths paid for - with supplement). Restrooms at either end of the carriages complete the local experience.

Day 2: Dong Hoi - Phong Nha - Dong Hoi

Upon arrival at Dong Hoi Railway Station, meet your local tour guide and have Vietnamese breakfast at a local restaurant.
Drive north to Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park and take a boat trip on the Son River from a critical point of the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail to the Phong Nha Cave. About 300 caves have been counted in this area so far. This proves the significance of this karsts cave system of which Phong Nha Cave, known as being among the longest and most beautiful karsts caves in the world, has been listed by UNESCO as a world natural heritage site. The boat will take you as far inside the wet cave to the entrance of Bi Ky chamber and then return to visit the “Fairy Lady” and “Royal Palace” cave.
Back at the pier, you will have lunch at a local restaurant and then drive about 25 km to visit Thien Duong Cave (Paradise Cave), another huge and beautiful cave just opened to the public.
Return to Dong Hoi City. Check-in at the hotel and have time at leisure.

Day 3: Dong Hoi - Vinh Moc Tunnels, Hien Luong, Dong Ha, Quang Tri

Sightseeing the former Demilitarised Zone (DMZ) is revisiting an important chapter of Vietnam’s history. As the dividing line between North and South Vietnam, the area along the Ben Hai River saw some of the heaviest fighting of the entire war. The tour will take you to visit to Ben Hai River; Exploring the DMZ; Ho Chi Minh Trail and Dakrong Bridge; Khe Sanh Combat Base and The Rockpile
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Accommodation: Hotel in Dong Hoi
Activities: Full day visit to the waist of Vietnam country with most well known sightseeing: Vinh Moc Tunnels and DMZ area

 

Day 4: Dong Hoi - Hue by day train

Pick up at your hotel in Dong Hoi and transfer to railway station to Hue.
The Vietnamese railway system is an ageing but pretty dependable service, and offers a relaxing way to get around the nation. Travelling in an air-con sleeping berth sure beats a hairy overnight bus journey along Hwy 1. And of course, there’s some spectacular scenery to lap up too.

Activities: Day train to Hue

Train schedule is subject to change. Private compartments on request at surcharge. Train journeys are part of a great local experience.   • 30% of total package price should be deposited once the booking is confirmed
  • Cancellation received less than 72 hours prior arrival date or No show: full charge the deposit amount
  • Cancellation received from 4 days to 14 days prior arrival date: 50% of total package tour charged
  • Cancellation received from 15 days to 20 days prior arrival date: 10% of total package tour charged

  • 50% discount for child under 6 years accompany with 2 full paying clients, staying in same room with parents
  • 75% charged for child from 6-11 years accompany with 2 full paying clients, staying on extra bed
  • The above children rates are applicable for booking made with 2 adults and a maximum of 2 children ccupancy in a room.
